Shimmy and Shape
Math and dance surprisingly go well together. In our Dance class, my group designed a short lesson plan outlining a few dance activities to bring into the math classroom. We focused on geometry. We challenged our classmates to create shapes with their bodies and transition between them. Later, we discuss the properties between the shapes they created.Mirror Image
Rotations, reflections and translations can also be danced. The video below explains how it is used in dance chorography. This is something in math that I always struggled with. Being able to relate it to dance might have helped me understand and remember it better!Math and Lesson Plans:
